Who we are

About Dr. Paul Miranda

I am a board-certified Family Medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients in the Emergency Room. Throughout my career, I have worked with people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. That experience has shaped how I practice medicine: thoughtfully, carefully, and with respect for the complexity of each individual.

Long before I treated patients for metabolic disease, I struggled with weight myself. I have lived with obesity since childhood. Over the years, I have experienced periods of progress and setbacks, discipline and frustration. I understand firsthand how difficult long-term weight management can be — not because I studied it in a textbook, but because I have lived it.

In 2017, I began formally studying obesity medicine and became involved with the American Board of Obesity Medicine community. Since then, I have continued to deepen my understanding of metabolic health, weight regulation, and the science behind sustainable fat loss. I have also learned that meaningful change rarely comes from extremes. It comes from steady structure, accountability, and practical strategies that fit into real lives.

Summit Metabolic Health was created from that perspective.

This practice is built around physician-led care, individualized plans, and medically responsible treatment planning. We focus on realistic, sustainable improvements — combining medication when appropriate with thoughtful lifestyle guidance, lab monitoring, and ongoing support.

I believe metabolic health is not about quick fixes. It is about restoring balance, building momentum, and helping people feel stronger, healthier, and more confident in their daily lives.

If you are looking for structured, supportive medical care — grounded in both clinical experience and personal understanding — I would be honored to work with you.
